Dear backers,

As I recover from COVID, I will start to head back on track to getting the pins ready to ship out to you all! This means I will be charging cards soon for any addons you put into your Backerkit surveys. If you did not add anything on, this doesn't apply to you as everything is already paid for already!

Please keep on the lookout for a message from backerkit giving a final notice for card charges. Your addess is still editiable in the meantime until I work out a shipping schedule.

In more quality news, I also noticed a lot of the pins have watermarking on the back of the pins. I'm trying to work out with the manufacturer how I can potentially clean them off as they look pretty gross. If not, I may need to work out getting more replacements. I do not think pins with this discoloration should go out at full price, even if it is on the back.

Such is life when ordering a mass produced product....

If you have any additional questions, feel free to shoot me a message anytime.

Dear backers,

As timing might have it, I just tested positive for COVID today. This means there may be additional delays in getting the pins out to you while I recover. I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. I will resume grading pins shortly and will get back to you all with a shipping schedule soon.

As you may recall, Backerkit surveys are locking sometime tomorrow. Make sure your orders are all correct in there! Cards will charge shortly after, but addresses will not lock until I start shipping out.

Thanks for your patience,

Dear backers,

So it seems slightly more people do prefer the original California colors, and because it was also what was put up in the campaign, I have successfully arranged with the manufacturer to get the colors fixed.

Utah will also be fixed as well, with the updated back signature.

The manufacturer has estimated it will take about 20-ish days for the replacement pins to ship out to me. So while this is good news for the pins as a whole, it does unfortunately mean there will be delays with shipping to those who have Utah or California pins in their orders.

If you are one of the people that did prefer the greener hue to the California pin, feel free to message me and I can work out getting that one to you instead of the OG colored variant if you want it. You are also free to wait for images of the fixed color variant to come in to decide. Those who ordered California will otherwise be sent the fixed color variant.

That said, with this seemingly resolved, I will be locking surveys soon. Keep an eye out for another warning regarding the survey locks. Cards will be charged soon after. Shipping addresses will not be locked until I am officially shipping out.

Pins are currently in the grading process. :)

Thanks all for your patience,

Dear backers,

I recieved some feedback that some people actually prefer the brighter green-ish color on California as opposed to the original, less saturated one. So I thought I would bring it to a poll.

Obviously, I know it still is not exactly what I posted initially as the color of the pin, so I am leaving surveys unlocked still incase people decide to change their pin orders.

Please vote in this poll here to help decide what my next step will be. You may also select "No preference" if you like both equally.

Left (photo) is how I received the pins, right (original artwork) is how the colors were intended.

Thank you, and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!

Dear backers,

Good news and bad news.
The good news is the pins are here! The bad news: two of the designs (California and Utah) came back with errors. California seems to have issues with color (underbelly turned out green instead of a tan color, sand and text bg came out tan instead of pink), and Utah is missing the artist signature on the back (this may be more of a hassle because it is a flaw in the mold itself).

A quick group photo- I will have to take more high quality photos later! The sizes came out great, all are about the same size and everyone else has great colors in person (colors in this pic may not look perfect- again I will have to take better photos for you all). As you can see, California has strange green hue to Auggie's underbelly, it almost looks like it should glow in the dark! The sand and color behind the "California" text looks like the color that was supposed to be on the stomach, rather than the original pink color.

The backs of each pin have the name of the animal as well as my signature- except for Utah! Here is a look at Texas as an example, and Utah below it.

I will be bringing this up with the manufacturer to see what can be done, and will update you all when I get a good answer on what the next steps will be. I will likely prioritize California as the issue is on the front of the pin and is an easier fix. Because Utah's issue is on the back and only an issue of a missing signature and date, but a harder fix because the mold would have to be remade, I will have to decide if this fix is worth it. I might put out a poll to those who are getting the Utah pin to decide after discussing with the manufacturer.

As for the other pins, the next step will be grading! For those who don't know about pin grading, it is essentially a quality control step. Pins are individually given letter grades based on whether or not they have any flaws. "A" pins do not have any flaws, "B" have minor flaws, and "C" have major flaws. B and C pins are sold at a discount. All backers will be receiving an A grade of each pin. This step could take me a bit because there are a LOT of pins to go through.

As for when exactly I will be locking surveys, I will get back to you all when I get into contact with the manufacturer about the errors. In addition to figuring out getting replacements, I will also have to decide what happens to the large amount of pins I received with these issues.

Thank you all for your patience!
